Purpose

The purpose of our club is to stimulate boating interest, courtesy, safety, education, and unified family fun and boating adventure.

History

In October of 1961, a group of boating enthusiasts from the town of Fircrest met to organize a boating club. In December of that year, the first election of officers was held, and in March of 1962, The Fircrest Boating Club" was incorporated. In January of 1969, the name was changed to “The Fircrest Yacht Club". In 1991 the by-laws were restructured to reflect the club's focused interest in recreational cruising. In 2011 the club celebrated the 50 year anniversary.

Meetings

The Fircrest Yacht Club holds its meeting the third Tuesday of the month at various restaurants in the South Sound area.

Reciprocal Home Base

Currently FYC has agreements with Breakwater Marina and Foss Harbor Marina for reciprocals for other Yacht clubs, and our members enjoy reciprocals at many Northwest Yacht Clubs up and down Puget Sound.

Membership in the Fircrest Yacht Clubis a family affair. We enjoy a full schedule of activities with an active membership. The club enjoys many leisurely family cruises throughout the Puget Sound Boating Season.

FYC members can frequently be found at favorite South Sound marinas enjoying boating and meeting people on the docks and in the parks. We are a friendly and fun group.
